-new way, do this option if you don't want to do the original way underneath, you don't have to be rooted to do this. And is easily reverseble.-
Go to your dialer and enter this code
Then click the first option, then go down to where it says cdma auto, and click it to open the drop down menu, then click EVDO only. This makes 3g the surpreme leader of the phone, and completly drops the ability to make calls or recive them. After you're done simply leave the programming menus. If you want to recive calls again, go back and select cdma auto (the choice your phone had by default)
Note: this also stops your phone from annoyingly changing to 1x at random times. Keeps 3g dominant.
This whole thing is mainly for people who tether their phones to play mmorpgs on their computer without interpption through DC. Also for people who run businesses and want to have their phone stream music for the store over the speakers, without worrying about a random call setting off their ringtone.
ok so i've seen other motorola phones that don't have like a super smart OS, but like regular OS'es that have the option of turnning off incoming calls or outgoing calls and stuff like that under the security settings and what-not.
i use my droid as a modem with PDAnet, and everytime i get a call, i get dissconnected from what i'm doing while the phones ringing. i want to know if theres any way i can set my phone to ignore incoming calls while the option is toggled so that it doesn't dissconnect me while using PDAnet.
COMPLETE INSTRUCTIONS ON HOW THIS WAS SOLVED:
How to block all incoming calls:
(you will need the following applications, which are free and avalible on the android market: delete contacts, Call filter)
1) first you need to back up all your numbers. click phone book then hit menu, on the bottom right there should be a button that says" Import/export" Click that and then click "Export to SD card"
-------EXPORT YOUR CONTACTS BEFORE MOVING TO THE NEXT STEP-------
2) you are now ready to wipe your contact book clean! simply open "delete contacts"
and click the obvious big ol' button that says "delete contacts now!" be sure you've exported your contacts before doing this becuase it blows your phone book up as soon as you click the button! no turnning back!
3)Now, you might get a notification that will say "Contact delete limmit exceeded" click that notification and select "do nothing" (this stops your contact book from being re loaded without your permission)
4)Now open up call filter, and check off "controll calls from specified numbers" then click the button underneath it that says "call filter (0)" this is the list that the checked option is talking about. Now hit the menu key and select "numbers not in contacts"
and there you have it, all calls will now be blocked within .5 seconds of the recived call.
To reverse all this, uncheck the "controll calls from specified numbers" on the call filter, then go to your contacts book, and hit menu, then import/export, then click "import from SD card" and there you go, all of your numbers and directions and emails etc right back where they were last time.
