Some animated websites don't work. Is this because of the delayed adobe flash program? Or do i need to adjust some settings?

If you try to download flash for the iphone or ipod touch, you will see that it is Apple that is preventing it.
I hear there will be flash for Andriod 2.0 1st qtr next year.

That's real good to know. Would put the Droid even further ahead of its competitors. Wink

I've always wanted flash on a phone. That would open so many possibilities.

Gotta love the contrast between the message you get from Adobe on the iPhone vs. the one you get from an Android phone or Palm Pre.

Is this why none of the animated clipart that people send me in text messages won't move? They have the play button button and when I press that it displays the clipart but they don't move. I also have some animated clipart from my previous phone that I put on my SD card and they don't move either.

Unfortunately, just about all the graphic's sent are using the GIF format.  At the current time the ole Droid won't "play" GIF graphics so all you see is the very first frame of the grahpic.  I know - bummer!

Motorola to add Flash 10.1 Support to Smartphones This Year
News by Todd Haselton
Wednesday January 06, 2010

Motorola today announced that it has been working closely with Adobe to bring the Flash 10.1 platform to its smartphone portfolio during the first half of this year.

Motorola said that Adobe has been using the Motorola DROID as a tool while it works on full Flash support for the Android operating system.

Flash 10.1 will be the first web browser runtime release of the Open Screen Project, which is led by Adobe and includes nearly 50 companies.

Flash 10.1 support will enable smartphone web browsers to more closely resemble those on computers, by providing full support for Flash intensive websites like Hulu.com. Adobe says that over 75 percent of videos online use its Flash technology today.
