Wi-Fi Droid is Wi-Fi capable, which allow you to access the Internet when you are in range of the Wi-Fi network. Areas within Wi-Fi coverage are deemed hotspots, and can be private (e.g. a home/enterprise network, or a commercial location such as a coffee shop) or public (e.g. municipal). UMA/GAN UMA (Unlicensed Mobile Access), sometimes referred to as GAN (Generic Access Network), provides carrier services (GSM®/GPRS/EDGE) over unlicensed networks such as Wi-Fi. It allows smartphones that are Wi-Fi capable to make GSM phone calls over Wi-Fi networks.

No, Wifi is home interent, or like wireless internet at a coffe shop or something. You cant use another network, its only Verizon.

...Actually i think the data limit is 5 gigs... I just can't imagine someone ever getting close to 5GB on the Droid unless they have it tethered to their PC (or LapTop) and they are downloaded a million movies!

I use 5-6GB/mo on my OG Droid. My Wife uses 6-7GB/mo on her DX Nether of us are tethering to hit these numbers... Streaming music and YouTube eats up a bunch'a data...
